CONNECTICUT BALLET
CELEBRATES NATIONAL DANCE DAY IN MIDDLETOWN

JULY 18, 2016, Hartford, CT --- The state's professional ballet company will celebrate
National Dance Day with a free performance in Middletown on Saturday, July 30th at
7:00pm at Middlesex Community College’s Chapman Hall, 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown.
In keeping with the theme of National Dance Day organized by Nigel Lythgoe’s Dizzy
Feet Foundation, Connecticut Ballet “encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun
and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity.” Audience members will join
the company dancers for a stretch and free-style dance during the 15-minute intermission.

Entitled ‘Duets & Trios -- Classical to Contemporary,’ the program will include two
world premieres by choreographers Eve Chan and Rodney Rivera and favorite duets
from the company extensive repertoire of 60 ballets. Artistic Director Brett Raphael will
narrate. An informal meet-and-greet will be held immediately after the show.

Community sponsors include Middletown Commission on the Arts, Price Chopper, and Panera Bread.
